But shouldn’t there be more?
As with any organization, beneath its core activities and functions lies a deeper factor: a school’s culture.
“The culture of a school consists of the underlying core values, beliefs, rituals and traditions that are oftentimes unwritten and below the stream of consciousness but are the most powerful driving forces of what goes on in the school,” says Kent Peterson, co-author of the book Shaping School Culture: The Heart of Leadership.
